Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Two years of increasingly responsible work experience in construction plan review and/or inspection.

Responsibilities

• Consult with the public, designers, developers, and others about code requirements.
• Review plans, specifications, calculations, and other documents for code compliance.
• Inspect work to verify compliance with codes, approved plans and specs.
• Perform field inspections of construction work to verify compliance.
• Investigate work without an approved permit and issue stop work orders when appropriate.
• Prepare requests for information, correction reports, and inspection notes.
• Maintain accurate reports and records of plan review and inspection activities.
• May assist in leading part-time, temporary, or intern personnel within the division.
• Maintain punctual and reliable attendance.
