Gig Harbor is seeking a Building Inspector/Plans Reviewer to ensure plans and construction adhere to city codes. The role blends office plan review with on-site inspections, supporting safe, code-compliant development throughout the community.

You will review plans, inspect work for code compliance, and communicate findings to property owners, contractors, and city staff, contributing to responsible growth and public safety in Gig Harbor.

Formación

• Experience in construction plan review and/or inspection.
• Knowledge of building, fire, plumbing, mechanical, energy codes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and calculations.

Responsabilidades

• Consults with the public, designers, developers, and others about code requirements.
• Reviews plans, specifications, calculations, and other documents for compliance.
• Inspects work to verify compliance with adopted codes and plans.
• Performs field inspections of construction work to verify code compliance.
• Investigates work without an approved permit and issues stop work orders as needed.
• Maintains accurate reports and records of plan review and inspection activities.
