Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer in New York to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems including plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling to ensure reliable operations.

You will perform preventive maintenance, support energy management, review inspections, and coordinate with teams to meet safety and environmental standards. A high school diploma or equivalent with 4–5 years of related experience and a Universal CFC certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4–5 years of job-related experience.
• Universal CFC certification is preferred.
• Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
• Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Physical requirements include lifting 50 lbs. or more.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational and analytical skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Comply with applicable codes, regulations, and safety policies.
• Maintain an energy management program and ensure efficiency of systems.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Follow policies for safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Review inspections of building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing).
• Share knowledge and mentor other team members.
• Lead by example and align with CBRE RISE values.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams on service activities.
• Explain difficult or sensitive information to stakeholders.
