Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is hiring a Building Engineer to maintain and repair building systems including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and HVAC at a large financial institution. The role supports preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and inspections onsite.

You will ensure safety compliance, energy efficiency, and safe operations while mentoring others and upholding CBRE RISE values. Strong organizational, math, and CMMS skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma or equivalent experience.
• EPA/CFC certification preferred; licenses may be required by local/state jurisdictions.
• Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Meets physical requirements including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing/walking access.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on analysis of multiple sources of information.
• Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and CMMS experience preferred.
• Organizational skills with an inquisitive attitude.
• Sophisticated math skills for percentages, fractions, and financial calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
• Align with codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
• Maintain an energy management program and ensure efficient operation of systems.
• Assist with implementing preventive maintenance and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a safe workplace.
• Review inspections of building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) and ensure operations meet design specs.
• Apply advanced knowledge, mentor others, and lead by CBRE RISE values in collaboration.
