Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team seeks a Design Coordinator to drive from early planning through project completion in Portland, OR. You will coordinate architectural and engineering documentation, manage schedules, and mentor junior staff in BIM standards.

Ideal candidates bring advanced Revit and AutoCAD skills, familiarity with SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite, and a strong grasp of codes, accessibility, and construction methods. This on-site role offers collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial architecture and design.
• Professional Architecture degree from a NAAB-accredited institution or equivalent
• Advanced Revit and AutoCAD proficiency; familiarity with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering tools preferred
• Strong knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, and construction methods.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting project deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Translate concepts into clear technical documentation using Revit and visualization tools.
• Prepare and coordinate construction documents from schematic design through construction administration.
• Coordinate architectural and engineering documentation, including technical reviews, detailing, redlines, QA/QC, and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Collaborate with project architects, project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, and specialty consultant drawings.
• Review drawings and specifications for completeness, quality, constructability, and code compliance.
• Assist in managing project schedules, deliverables, and document milestones.
• Participate in design coordination meetings and client presentations as required.
• Support permitting activities and respond to jurisdictional review comments.
• Assist during bidding and construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, and field coordination.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to maintaining firm BIM and documentation standards.
