UMass Chan Medical School is seeking a Building Automation Technician I to ensure safe, reliable operation of building automation systems across campus. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, startups, and troubleshooting to maintain optimal HVAC performance.

The role requires a technical school background, 4 years in building automation, and knowledge of HVAC controls, with travel to off-site locations as needed. Strong problem-solving and programming skills are valued.

Qualifications

Technical School or equivalent.
4 years of experience in building automation, engineering, and programming.
Strong understanding of HVAC and building controls.
Familiarity with programming languages.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to off-site locations.
Experience with BACNET and MODBUS preferred.

Responsabilités

Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics on building automation systems and components in critical and non-critical environments.
Test and verify system readings to ensure optimal operation.
Assist in automation startups and complete work orders and reports.
Troubleshoot and repair complex building control systems; coordinate with other departments as needed.
Review building control programs for operation, functionality, and efficiency.
Participate in job-site reviews and systems turnover.
