Job summary
UMass Chan Medical School seeks a Building Automation Technician II to ensure safe, reliable operation of campus control systems from the main facilities shop in Worcester. Qualifications
- Requires technical training from a technical school or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in building automation, engineering, and programming.
- Solid understanding of HVAC controls and equipment, including sequences of operation.
- Advanced knowledge of programming languages used in automation.
- Strong knowledge of automation, mechanical, electrical concepts, and building operations.
- Skilled in programming, startup/checkout, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and oversight of building control systems.
- Review and startup automation systems; manage work orders and reports.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex building control systems and components.
- Support system calibration, adjustments, and validation of proper operation.
- Assist with installation, testing, and documentation of control programs.
