Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Building Management Control System (BMCSS) Technician to monitor, operate, test, and maintain building automation systems across critical facilities.

The role requires BAS and DDC experience, BACnet proficiency, and the ability to troubleshoot complex controls networks. You will support alarm handling, maintenance planning, and energy efficiency initiatives while coordinating with BAS leadership and on-call schedules.

Qualifications

• Three years BAS monitoring and DDC controls experience within the building controls industry.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including sequence of operations, technical product literature, programming manuals and specifications.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic communications wiring, control logic wiring and end devices.
• Knowledge of building mechanical and electrical equipment functions and use, HVAC systems controls applications, and relevant hardware and software products.
• Knowledge of commonly used networks and network topologies.
• Ability to work at a computer terminal with mouse and keyboard for extended periods.
• Ability to work safely in close proximity to exposed line voltage and low voltage wiring and terminations.
• Good customer communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, test and perform installation and preventive/corrective maintenance on the Building Automation System.
• Apply adjustments in the Building Automation System in response to tenant calls, work orders, alarms, monitor building status, and identified fault conditions.
• Coordinate and receive direction from BAS Manager/Lead, Lab Ventilation Manager, and may rotate back shift or be on-call.
• Record and maintain documentation; respond to emergencies and protect occupants and property.
• Develop and maintain procedures and checklists for service calls and system maintenance.
