Job summary

Newtown Savings Bank is seeking a dedicated BSA/AML Team Leader to oversee daily BSA/AML tasks, reports, and staff. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and bank policies, and acts as a primary liaison to auditors and vendors.

This is an onsite role at the corporate office in Newtown, CT, with a remote option of one day per week. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years in banking and BSA/AML, and CAMS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 3–5 years in banking and BSA/AML experience.
• CAMS certification preferred; willing to obtain within bank timelines.
• Strong knowledge of OFAC, CTRs/SARs, and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train BSA/AML staff, review performance, and assign tasks.
• Perform alert reviews, investigate activity, and escalate as needed.
• Prepare CTRs, SARs, and other required regulatory reports.
• Support AML software testing, parameter reviews, and system validation.
• Coordinate audits/exams and respond to regulators.
• Maintain detailed case notes and analyze transaction patterns.
• Generate KPI reports and improve department processes.
• Liaise with auditors, vendors, and management.
