Job summary

Belmont University is seeking a student employee to support Bruin Card Services and Auxiliary Services. You will deliver frontline customer service to students, faculty, and staff, while assisting with card issuance, mobile wallet setup, and basic troubleshooting.

The role offers flexible scheduling around classes, with a preference for a minimum weekly commitment. Prior experience is helpful, and training will be provided by Belmont University.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in customer service, technology support, and university operations while serving as a front-line representative for Bruin Card Services within Auxiliary Services. Student workers provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff while supporting the University's ID card program.

Scheduling is flexible around class commitments; however, preference will be given to students who can work a minimum of 8 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Bruin Card Services Support
  • Serve as the first point of contact for visitors to Bruin Card Services by providing friendly, professional customer service.
  • Guide customers through mobile credential activation and wallet setup on supported devices.
  • Print, issue, replace, and distribute physical Bruin Cards in accordance with university policies.
  • Assist students, faculty, and staff with questions and basic troubleshooting regarding the use of physical and mobile Bruin Cards.
  • Verify customer identity, accurately maintain departmental records, and safeguard confidential information.
  • Refer complex technical, access control, or policy-related questions to the Director of Bruin Card Services, Access Control, or other appropriate Auxiliary Services staff.
Administrative Support
  • Answer phones, monitor departmental email, and respond to routine customer inquiries.
  • Assist with record keeping, data entry, and other clerical tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming office environment.
  • Support office projects and process improvements as assigned.
Auxiliary Services Support
  • Assist with special events, student orientations, and promotional activities.
  • Provide support for other Auxiliary Services departments, including Dining Services, Mail Services, Bruin Bucks, Bruin Books, Vending, and the BruinShop, as departmental needs arise.
    Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous customer service, retail, help desk, or office experience.
  • Interest in technology, mobile devices, or campus operations.
  • Experience or interest in working with Apple and Android mobile devices.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Dependable, professional, and punctual.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Required Education

Must be a currently enrolled Belmont University student.

Required Experience

Previous customer service or office experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
