Responsibilities

  • Assist management in identifying operational trends and areas for improvement.
  • Test, monitor, and troubleshoot the Bruin Eats platform.
  • Document issues and summarize customer feedback on dining services.
  • Support implementation of technology enhancements and operational improvements.
  • Provide general office and administrative support to Auxiliary Services and Dining Services.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Position Summary

Belmont is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Student Operations and Surveillance Assistant to support operations within Belmont University's Auxiliary Services environment. The student employee will assist with monitoring convenience store activity, documenting operational concerns, supporting the Bruin Eats mobile ordering platform, and providing administrative support for dining operations. This position offers valuable experience in retail operations, technology support, customer service, and business operations.

Surveillance and Operations Support
  • Assist with monitoring live and recorded video surveillance for the campus convenience store and other designated dining locations.
  • Observe and document unusual, suspicious, or noncompliant activity for review by management.
  • Prepare accurate incident summaries and operational reports following established procedures.
  • Maintain organized records related to surveillance reviews and operational observations.
  • Assist management in identifying operational trends and areas for improvement.
Dining Technology and Bruin Eats Support
  • Assist with testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting the Bruin Eats mobile ordering platform.
  • Document system issues, user concerns, and operational disruptions.
  • Communicate observed issues to dining management and designated support contacts.
  • Help gather and summarize customer feedback regarding dining services and mobile ordering experiences.
  • Support the implementation of technology enhancements and operational improvements.
Administrative and Operational Support
  • Maintain accurate internal records and assist with preparing routine reports.
  • Assist with inventory verification and point-of-sale audits as assigned.
  • Support special projects and departmental initiatives.
  • Organize and maintain departmental files and documentation.
  • Uphold confidentiality when handling operational, customer, or business information.
  • Provide general office and administrative support to Auxiliary Services and Dining Services leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Availability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week during the academic semester.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently after receiving instructions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Experience working in retail, dining, or campus operations.
  • Familiarity with mobile ordering platforms, point-of-sale systems, or inventory processes.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting.
Required Education
