Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field.
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a childcare, after-school, or related youth development program.
• Associate’s Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field and two (2) years of direct experience working with children under 13, including supervisory experience.
• New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential and two (2) years of direct experience working with children under 13, including supervisory experience.
• School-Age Child Care Credential or other credential specific to school-age development with two (2) years direct experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily program operations, ensuring alignment with COMPASS standards, contractual obligations, and organizational goals.
• Design, implement, and monitor program schedules, curricula, and enrichment activities to meet participant needs and funder requirements.
• Establish a safe, structured, and engaging environment for all participants.
• Design recruitment and retention strategy to ensure program meets contractual enrollment and ROP targets.
• Lead recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of program staff to ensure consistent performance and quality.
• Conduct ongoing staff supervision, evaluations, and professional development.
• Ensure that all staff adhere to child safety, mandated reporting, and confidentiality policies.
• Oversee weekly site-level payroll.
• Maintain accurate attendance, incident, and administrative records.
• Monitor program outcomes and participant engagement to ensure continuous improvement.
