Job summary

Phipps Houses and Affiliates is seeking a Part-Time Program Director to oversee daily operations in Bronx, NY. The role is on-site with a pay rate of $27.00/hour, focusing on program design, staffing, and compliance with funder requirements.

The candidate will lead recruitment, staff supervision, and budget oversight while ensuring a safe and engaging environment for youth in the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field.
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a childcare, after-school, or related youth development program.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a childcare or related program is required for certain credentials.
• Authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily program operations, ensuring alignment with COMPASS standards, contractual obligations, and organizational goals.
• Design, implement, and monitor program schedules, curricula, and enrichment activities to meet participant needs and funder requirements.
• Establish a safe, structured, and engaging environment for all participants.
• Recruitment and retention strategy to meet contractual enrollment and ROP targets.
• Lead recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of program staff with ongoing evaluations.
