Job summary

Phipps Neighborhoods is seeking a Program Director for Metropolitan High School in the Bronx, NY. The role oversees daily operations, designs curricula, and ensures safety and stakeholder engagement to meet funder and program goals.

You will lead staff recruitment, supervise performance, and ensure compliance with safety and reporting requirements while coordinating with the Managing Director and partners.

Qualifications

• Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and three years of supervisory experience.
• Candidates must meet one of the credential/education sets outlined (state credential, school-age credential, or equivalent).
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily program operations ensuring alignment with standards and contractual obligations.
• Design, implement, and monitor program schedules, curricula, and enrichment activities.
• Establish a safe, structured, and engaging environment for all participants.
• Design recruitment and retention strategies to meet enrollment targets.
• Lead recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of program staff; conduct evaluations and professional development.
• Ensure staff adherence to child safety, mandated reporting, and confidentiality policies.
• Oversee weekly site-level payroll and budget oversight.
• Manage program performance to meet funder expectations and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain attendance, incident, and administrative records; monitor outcomes for improvement.
• Serve as primary liaison with school personnel, families, and community partners.
