Mediacom Communications is hiring a Broadband Specialist I (Field Technician) in Illinois. You will install cable TV and broadband services at customer homes, drive a company van, and represent Mediacom daily to customers, providing an outstanding experience.

You’ll perform installations, changes of service, new outlets, and disconnects, while ensuring quality and safety. The role requires lifting up to 100 lbs and occasional climbs, with paperwork and customer communication a key part of the

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work at heights.
• Good communication and customer service orientation.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Make customer drop installations from tap to terminals in single and multi-unit dwellings.
• Perform new connects, reconnects, and changes of service; install/remove outlets.
• Analyze picture quality and verify service delivery.
• Use hand tools, CATV tools, and test equipment as required.
• Read general drop system layouts from blueprints and schematics.
• Drive company vehicle and maintain proper vehicle upkeeps.
• Complete paperwork and coordinate with customers regarding installation.
• Work safely in confined spaces and at various heights.
