Job summary

Mediacom Communications is looking for a Broadband Specialist I to perform field installations for cable and broadband services. You will drive a company van, work in customers' homes, and handle installations, service changes, and special requests with a focus on customer experience.

Responsibilities include onboarding new customers, troubleshooting signal quality, and upselling service options while following safety guidelines and FCC rules in a fast-paced field environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• General knowledge of mechanical and consumer devices.
• Ability to interact and communicate with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to work in high or tight spaces and in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Make customer drop installations complete from tap to antenna terminals in single and multi-unit dwellings.
• Perform new connects, reconnects, disconnects; add outlets; install/remove converters and upgrade/downgrade service.
• Analyze picture quality and judge acceptability after installation.
• Use hand tools; read signal levels with field strength meter; maintain proper clearances.
• Drive company vehicle; climb poles and ladders; lift up to 100 lbs.
• Complete required paperwork and inform customers about FCC rules and company policies.
• Generate additional revenue through sales of product options and campaigns.
