Job summary

Mediacom Communications is seeking a Broadband Specialist I to perform on-site installations of cable and broadband services. You will drive a company van, visit customer homes, and handle installations, service changes, outlet additions, and disconnections.

You will also collect payments and address special requests while representing the Mediacom brand. Responsibilities include troubleshooting signal quality, using hand and power tools, and following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• General level of mechanical and consumer devices knowledge.
• Ability to interact and communicate with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to work in high or tight spaces.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and at various heights.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Make customer drop installations complete from tap to antenna terminals on customer equipment in both single and multiple unit dwellings.
• Perform new connects, reconnects, and service changes; add outlets; install/remove converters; upgrade/downgrade service.
• Analyze picture quality and judge acceptability of delivered signal.
• Work with connectors, fasteners and wire; use hand tools.
• Read signal levels with a field strength meter and adjust levels as needed.
• Climb poles and ladders; lift up to 100 lbs; work in confined spaces.
• Drive company vehicles and maintain vehicle upkeep.
• Generate additional revenue by informing customers about product options and promotions.
