Job summary

Mediacom Communications is hiring a Broadband Specialist I (Field Technician) to perform in-home installations of cable TV and broadband services. You will drive a company vehicle, work at customer premises, and handle service changes, outlet installations, and related tasks.

Learn and perform diverse duties and provide excellent customer experiences. The role emphasizes safety, equipment handling, and effective communication with customers while meeting FCC and company policies.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• General mechanical and consumer devices knowledge.
• Ability to interact and communicate with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to work in high or tight spaces.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and at various heights.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Make customer drop installations (exterior and interior) from tap to antenna terminals, including pre-wired units.
• Perform new connects, reconnects, and disconnections; add outlets; install/remove converters; upgrade/downgrade service.
• Analyze picture quality and judge acceptability of delivered signal after installation.
• Work with connectors, fasteners, wire and hand tools.
• Read signal levels with field strength meter and adjust as needed.
• Drive company vehicle and perform vehicle upkeep.
