Job summary

Mediacom Communications is seeking a Broadband Specialist I (Field Technician) to install and service cable TV and broadband for residential customers in customer homes. You will drive a company van, perform new installations, changes of service, and additional outlets while ensuring quality and safety.

Responsibilities include servicing, troubleshooting, and upgrading connections, reading signal levels, and performing paperwork.

Qualifications

• General mechanical and consumer devices knowledge.
• Ability to interact with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to work in high or tight spaces.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and at various heights.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Make exterior and interior customer drop installations from tap to antenna terminals.
• Perform new connects, reconnects, disconnects, and outlet additions; install/remove converters; upgrade/downgrade service.
• Analyze picture quality after installation and ensure service meets standards.
• Use hand tools, CATV tools, and proper safety procedures.
• Read signal levels and blueprints; manage drop system layouts and installations.
• Drive company vehicle and perform vehicle upkeep; may use bucket truck.
• Generate revenue through product options and promotions.
• Complete paperwork per system requirements.
• Adhere to codes, guidelines, and safe work practices to ensure customer satisfaction.
