Job summary

RK&K is seeking Structural Project Engineers to join our Structures team in the design and analysis of transportation structures. The role supports remote or office-based work, with eligibility for approved U.S. locations.

You will lead bridge design efforts, coordinate with DOTs and municipalities, and contribute to project delivery from concept through construction. You will apply standards like AASHTO/LRFD, perform analyses in MicroStation and related tools, and collaborate across teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with emphasis on Structures.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in bridge design and transportation projects.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Familiarity with local DOT Standards, AASHTO, LRFD, etc.
• Adhere to strict QA/QC requirements.
• Experience working with DOT, local municipalities and counties.

Responsibilities

• Design bridge structures meeting project requirements and standards.
• Perform structural analyses using industry-standard software such as MicroStation, Leap Bridge Concrete, AASHTOWare BrR, Open Bridge Designer, or similar.
• Develop detailed design drawings for construction.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage bridge projects from inception through completion.
• Coordinate with contractors and regulatory agencies to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Maintain rigorous QA/QC throughout design and construction.
• Review design calculations, drawings and specifications for accuracy and safety.
• Cultivate relationships with clients by understanding needs and communicating progress.
