Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our Structures team. You will design and analyze transportation structures, leveraging experience with state DOTs and municipalities, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The role may be performed remotely or from an RK&K office location. Local qualified candidates in approved U.S. locations are encouraged to apply, with offices listed on our site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with emphasis on Structures.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Familiar with local DOT standards, AASHTO, LRFD.
• Experience with DOT and local municipalities/counties.

Responsibilities

• Design bridge structures to meet project requirements and regulatory standards.
• Perform structural analyses using industry tools such as MicroStation, Leap Bridge, or Open Bridge Designer.
• Develop detailed design drawings for construction.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage bridge projects from inception to completion.
• Coordinate with contractors and regulatory agencies to meet schedule and budget.
• Maintain QA/QC standards throughout design and construction.
• Review design calculations, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and safety.
• Build strong client relationships and communicate project progress.
