Job summary

KPFF Seattle’s Civil/Structural Team is seeking interns for the Summer 2027 Bridge Structural Engineering Internship. You will join our teams, tackle real-design problems from day one, and contribute to active project work on bridge projects and possibly other structures.

The internship emphasizes collaboration, learning from experienced engineers, on-site work in Downtown Seattle, and exposure to codes, site visits, CAD work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET accredited civil engineering degree with focus on structural engineering.
• Completed two or more design courses by start of 2027 internship.
• Strong communication and teamwork; eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in solving design problems and supporting project goals.
• Support CAD staff with calculations and plan production.
• Utilize engineering software to contribute to project development.
• Travel to project sites to observe existing conditions.
• Apply engineering principles and advanced mathematical techniques to real-world challenges.
• Navigate federal, state, and local regulations with KPFF standards.
• Collaborate in a vibrant, inclusive team environment.
• Participate in the internship program for growth and networking.
