Job summary

KPFF Spokane’s Civil/ Structural Team is offering the Summer 2027 Bridge Structural Engineering Internship. You will work with experienced engineers on real-world bridge projects, integrate into teams from day one, and contribute to design and analysis tasks.

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET-accredited BSCE/MSCE in civil engineering with a structural focus.
• Completed two or more design courses (concrete, steel, wood, or masonry) by 2027 internship start.
• Basic knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team.
• Desire for continued learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced engineers in solving complex engineering problems and achieving project goals.
• Support engineers and CAD staff with calculations, plan production and review.
• Utilize engineering/design software to contribute to project development.
• Travel to project sites to observe existing conditions and active construction.
• Apply core engineering principles and advanced mathematical techniques to real-world challenges.
• Navigate federal, state, and local regulations while aligning with KPFF standards.
• Thrive in a collaborative team environment that values curiosity and excellence.
• Participate in the internship program for additional growth and networking.
