Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers in Seattle, WA, invites applications for the Summer 2027 Structural Engineering Internship. You will work on real projects from day one, collaborating with experienced engineers and CAD staff to support design tasks and project development.

This on-site internship offers hands‑on exposure to steel, concrete, and mass timber systems, site travel, and training through workshops with senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET-accredited civil engineering degree with structural focus.
• Completed two or more design courses (concrete, steel, wood, or masonry) by 2027.
• Basic knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
• Strong written and verbal communication; teamwork.
• Desire for continued learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced engineers with design tasks and problem solving.
• Support CAD staff with calculations and plan production.
• Use engineering software to contribute to project development.
• Travel to project sites and observe conditions.
• Apply core engineering principles to real-world challenges.
• Participate in workshops with senior engineers.
