Job summary

KPFF Special Projects Division in Seattle offers a summer internship for a junior, senior, or graduate student in civil/structural engineering. The role is approx.

40 hours/week for up to 90 days, with projects across heavy civil, transportation, and waterfront infrastructure on the West Coast. You will assist a structural engineer with calculations, detailing, site visits, and cost estimating; interact with project teams, clients, and contractors; safety requirements apply on site.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project team members and clients on a variety of projects.
• Structural analysis coursework including moment and shear diagrams, load calculations, load paths, and mechanics of materials.

Responsibilities

• Assist a structural engineer with tasks including calculations, member sizing and detailing, documentation, plan production and review, and cost estimating.
• Assist with project site visits and comply with safety requirements in office and on site.
