Job summary

WSP is seeking a Bridge/Structural Engineer for our Worcester, MA office to join the Transportation Team on challenging projects. You will develop plans using CAD, prepare load ratings, support field inspections, and perform design calculations in a collaborative environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Structural or Civil Engineering, 3–5 years of relevant post-education experience, and an Engineer in Training certification; a Professional Engineer license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering or equivalent.
• Engineer in Training certification or equivalent credential is required.
• Knowledge of design/build concepts and rehabilitation/new design.
• Familiarity with MassDOT/MBTA/RIDOT standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional bridge/structural engineering work including CAD drafting for project design documents.
• Prepare Bridge Load Rating Reports for in-service bridges.
• Support field inspection and condition assessment of bridges and related structures.
• Prepare quantity/cost estimates and structural analysis/design calculations.
• Review drawings for design intent, comply with specifications, and document findings.
