Job summary

DRMP is hiring Transportation Technicians and CEI Inspectors at all levels in Charlotte, NC to support roadway and bridge projects. You will assist engineers and inspection teams with field inspection, sampling, testing, documentation, and surveying as needed.

Roles vary by level, with opportunities for lead inspection, mentoring, and training. A home office assignment is typical, and field work dominates the schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of construction inspection experience (1+ year in roadway/bridge construction).
• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field with 2+ years of construction inspection experience (1+ year in roadway construction).
• Candidates evaluated against client-specific qualifications for each assignment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction activities for compliance with plans, specs, and contract documents.
• Perform field tests, collect material samples, and document findings daily.
• Prepare diaries, reports, and maintain field books and pay documentation.
• Measure dimensions, elevations, and quantities; support progress payments.
• Enter and maintain project data using computers and reporting systems.
• Communicate clearly with project personnel and report deficiencies to supervision.
• Follow safety requirements and adapt to field conditions on site.
