Job summary

State of South Carolina, Department of Transportation, seeks a Bridge Crew Member for the Holly Hill Bridge Maintenance Unit. The role performs manual labor to construct, repair and preserve bridges using proper repair and replacement techniques around water and in maintenance work zones.

You will operate small equipment and power tools, assist with traffic control devices and flagging, support emergency and weather-related operations, and may work extended shifts.

Qualifications

• A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
• Requires attainment of a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six months of placement.
• There are no minimum training or experience requirements for this classification.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor to construct, repair and preserve bridges.
• Operate small equipment and power tools for maintenance work.
• Assist with traffic control devices and flagging in work zones.
• Support emergency and inclement weather operations.
• May be required to work extended or 12-hour shifts.
