Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Bridge Inspection Assistant Team Leader, Structural Engineer to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team in Pennsylvania, with offices in Philadelphia, Exton, Ephrata, and Mechanicsburg.

This role offers a path to Team Leader, performing professional structural engineering work and inspections while assisting with load ratings and plan development using AutoCAD and MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• NCBI certification (FHWA approved) must be current.
• CBSI certification through PennDOT must be current.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in bridge, tunnel, or related inspections or design.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles and application to projects.
• Demonstrated interest in structures, transportation, or related field and desire to advance skills.
• Physically capable of fieldwork, including heights, heavy gear, and night work.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on inspection-related projects.
• Serve as Assistant Team Leader on Bridge, Tunnel, and Ancillary Inspections.
• Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections.
• Assist in preparing bridge and tunnel load ratings.
• Assist with development of plans/sketches using AutoCAD/MicroStation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project work.
• Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers.
• Support project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Assist in preparing cost proposals and scope of work documents.
• Help maintain project documentation.
