Job summary

HNTB is seeking a seasoned leader to manage a professional engineering department in Baton Rouge. You will oversee project priorities, staffing, budgets and quality control, ensuring delivery on complex infrastructure tasks.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate cross‑functional work, and drive staff development while aligning with SSA processes and client expectations. This role blends technical stewardship with strategic growth responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 10 years of practical experience including 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience leading a discipline department with 15–20 staff.
• Professional licensure or certifications (PE, AICP, PMP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, monitors and manages the department's operating budget and forecast updates.
• Leads the discipline engineering department, sets priorities and assigns staff to projects.
• Supports strategic plans and firm processes on project pursuits and contracting activities.
• Oversees project delivery processes to ensure quality, timeliness and client satisfaction.
• Recruits, mentors and retains department staff and coordinates staff development.
