Job summary

Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) seeks a Bridge Engineer – Project Manager to lead bridge and related structures design, managing scope, budgets, and client coordination. This role supports CDI’s mission to build stronger communities and advance transportation projects across multiple offices.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in bridge design, a PE license (IL licensure preferred), and strong leadership with experience overseeing projects and teams within a collaborative, safety-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
• Registered PE.
• IL Structural Engineer licensure (preferred).
• Team Leader Bridge Inspection certification (preferred).
• 10+ years of bridge design experience.

Responsibilities

• Managing structural engineering projects by creating scope and budgets, directing the design, and coordinating work with other staff and design team members.
• Signing/sealing work as required.
• Analyzing and designing transportation-related structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and sign structure foundations.
• Serving as a key point of contact with clients, contractors, and local officials.
• Displaying an eagerness to work on a wide variety of project types.
• Assisting in the preparation of engineering project proposals.
• Working collaboratively with the CDI Structural Service Leadership, Project Engineers, and other team members to develop effective solutions.
• Ensuring compliance with CDI’s safety procedures.
