Job summary

Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) is seeking a Bridge Engineer – Project Manager to lead complex bridge projects and guide the next generation of engineers.

The role supports our Structures/Bridge Group and collaborates with transportation and site development teams to deliver safe, efficient, durable designs. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree, PE licensure, 10+ years in bridge design, and experience with DOT projects.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering (a plus but not required).
• Registered PE.
• IL Structural Engineer licensure (preferred qualification).
• Team Leader Bridge Inspection certification (preferred qualification).
• 10 years plus of bridge design experience.

Responsibilities

• Managing structural engineering projects by creating scope and budgets, directing the design, and coordinating work with other staff and design team members.
• Signing/sealing work as required.
• Analyzing and designing transportation-related structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and sign structure foundations.
• Serving as a key point of contact with clients, contractors, and local officials.
• Displaying an eagerness to work on a wide variety of project types.
• Assisting in the preparation of engineering project proposals.
• Working collaboratively with the CDI Structural Service Leadership, Project Engineers, and other team members to develop effective solutions.
• Ensuring compliance with CDI’s safety procedures.
