Job summary

Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) is seeking a Bridge Engineer – Project Manager to lead structural bridge projects, manage scope and budgets, and coordinate with staff and clients. The role blends design, project leadership, and client liaison across multiple office locations.

The ideal candidate has extensive bridge design experience, a PE license, and strong collaboration skills to mentor staff and deliver projects safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in civil/structural engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in IL or equivalent.
• IL Structural Engineer licensure preferred.
• Team Leader Bridge Inspection certification preferred.
• 10+ years of bridge design experience.

Responsibilities

• Managing structural engineering projects by creating scope and budgets, directing the design, and coordinating work with other staff and design team members.
• Signing/sealing work as required.
• Analyzing and designing transportation-related structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and sign structure foundations.
• Serving as a key point of contact with clients, contractors, and local officials.
• Displaying an eagerness to work on a wide variety of project types.
• Assisting in the preparation of engineering project proposals.
• Working collaboratively with the CDI Structural Service Leadership, Project Engineers, and other team members to develop effective solutions.
• Ensuring compliance with CDI’s safety procedures.
