Job summary

Lochmueller Group, based in Northern Indiana, is seeking a Structural Project Engineer / Project Manager to lead DOT and local bridge design projects with a strong focus on bridge engineering and project leadership.

The role involves managing scopes, budgets, and schedules, performing bridge design and inspection tasks, and growing PM capabilities while contributing to a positive workplace culture at Lochmueller Group, a 100% employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering; structural emphasis helpful.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• 7–10 years of structural engineering with bridge design focus.
• Experience with project management and accounting software is beneficial.
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as project engineer and/or project manager on DOT and local bridge design projects.
• Apply advanced knowledge in broad bridge design areas.
• Lead design documents for bridge projects.
• Plan and coordinate engineering work.
• Provide bridge inspection services.
• Assist management as a technical specialist or advisor.
• Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Assist with proposals and funding applications.
• Take on additional responsibilities as opportunities arise.
