Job summary

STV is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Engineer to join our Carolinas Bridge practice. This hybrid role may be located in Columbia, Rock Hill, or Charleston, SC, with consideration for other SC locations for highly qualified candidates.

The role involves management, design, and inspection of highway, rail, and pedestrian bridges, and potential client interaction. Candidates will lead structural design efforts, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development while growing a South

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s preferred but not required.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive design experience on structural projects.
Seismic analysis experience and knowledge of highway structures are required.
SCDOT/NCDOT/GDOT/rail experience a plus; NBIS and inspection experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Work as an integral part of the Carolinas Bridge Practice.
Manage projects involving bridge/structural design and inspections.
Provide analysis, design, and inspection of bridges and related structures.
Lead structural design on transportation projects and serve as project manager as needed.
Sign and seal bridge plans as Engineer of Record.
Mentor junior staff and grow a SC-based Bridge Group.
Develop budgets, schedules, proposals, and client service plans.
