Job summary

AECOM’s Greater Pennsylvania Area Bridge Engineering Practice is seeking a Structural Engineer with a passion for bridge design. This hybrid role requires two in-office days per week at our GPA offices in Philadelphia, Conshohocken, Mechanicsburg, Pittsburgh, or Morgantown, with remaining days remote.

You will lead conceptual to final design of bridges, perform analysis and rehab work, and utilize CAD, CSiBridge, and BIM tools to produce high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with structures focus and four (4) years of relevant experience working on bridges and other transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Professional Engineering License (PE)
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM’s motor vehicle records review.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual, preliminary and detailed final design of new bridges and other transportation structures
• Analysis and rehabilitation design of existing bridges
• Use of computer software for the analysis and design of bridges and other structures
• Preparation and/or quality review checking of technical reports, design calculations, and structural plans
• Preparation and/or quality review checking of technical specifications and construction cost estimates
• Working both independently and with groups of engineers, designers and/or specialists toward the development of structural design documents and contract deliverables
• Following of QA/QC procedures to ensure the technical quality of deliverables, and assisting with responses to client’s comments on structural design elements of the deliverables
• Training, mentoring and helping to develop junior structural engineering staff; and
• Structural-related project task management
