Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Bridge Design Engineer for our New York City office to support large infrastructure projects. You will work under a Senior Bridge Engineer on bridges, interchanges, and related structures, delivering complex AASHTO-based designs.

Requirements include 5–10 years in bridge design and a PE license (NY) or eligibility; strong software proficiency and collaboration across disciplines are essential. Hybrid work is available with a NYC focus.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred; Civil/Structural engineering degree required.
• 5–10 years’ experience in bridge and structural design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in NY or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analyses using finite element modeling and load rating.
• Develop design deliverables including criteria, plans, specs, and calculations.
• Prepare and review steel and concrete design calculations and estimates.
• Supervise junior engineers and CAD designers.
• Lead design and construction document preparation per NYSDOT standards.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines and assist on problem solving.
