Job summary

Stantec’s New York City office is seeking a Senior Bridge Design Engineer to lead bridge design squads on large-scale infrastructure projects, including complex interchanges and rehabilitation work. You will work with leadership to deliver high-quality design packages and ensure code compliance across NYSDOT and local agencies.

The role requires a PE license in NY (or ability to obtain) and 10–15 years of bridge design experience, with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering.
• PE license in NY (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
• 10–15 years’ experience in bridge design and transportation structures.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and review of bridge components to meet criteria and specs.
• Provide oversight of bridge designs and constructability considerations.
• Lead preparation of design/construction docs for NYSDOT standards.
• Mentor squads and coordinate with multi-discipline teams.
• Manage design milestones and QA/QC checks on deliverables.
