Job summary

Thimble Alterations is building a network of independent professionals who tailor bridal and formalwear from home. You will handle alterations on wedding gowns and related garments, perform fittings, and communicate timelines to clients.

The role emphasizes high-quality finishing, precise measurements, and organized workspace for fittings. Ideal candidates have proven bridal alteration experience, strong sewing skills, and professional communication.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations.
• Strong garment construction knowledge and precision measuring.
• Machine and hand sewing proficiency.
• Professional communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers)
• Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle)
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings
• We also receive requests for prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
