Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year experience in a hospital, outpatient facility or physician office or equivalent healthcare experience.
• Minimum one (1) year customer service experience required.
• Medical terminology required.
• Computer skill and knowledge of all Microsoft applications.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Professional, detail oriented, self‑motivated and an independent worker.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Prefer two or more years' experience in a hospital, outpatient facility or physician office environment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule any surgical cases for assigned providers and clinical area(s).
• Review surgical orders for accuracy.
• Schedule pre‑op and ancillary services.
• Communicate timely and provide the highest level of customer service to the surgical team, inter‑departments, patient and family.
• Manage consultation requests, the electronic request list, and notify patients regarding scheduled appointments.
• Accurately interpret orders as received by all authorized scribes.
• Serve as preceptor for new hires.
• Use medical terminology comfortably and thrive in an environment with many competing priorities and demands.
