Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Surgical Scheduling Coordinator Specialist to manage patient appointments across multiple resources and external records. You will ensure accurate scheduling and clear communication with patients, families, and clinical teams.

Responsibilities include reviewing surgical orders, coordinating pre-op and ancillary services, and providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience in a hospital, outpatient facility or physician office or equivalent healthcare experience.
• Plus a minimum of one year customer service experience.
• Medical terminology required.
• Computer skill and knowledge of all Microsoft applications.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills required.
• Must be professional, detail oriented, self-motivated and an independent worker.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Prefer two or more years' experience in a hospital, outpatient facility or physician office environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient appointments involving multiple resources and external records to facilitate accurate scheduling.
• Follow-up with stakeholders verbally, written and electronically.
• Schedule any surgical cases for assigned providers and clinical area(s).
• Review surgical orders for accuracy and schedule pre-op and ancillary services.
• Provide highest level of customer service to the surgical team, inter-departments and the patient and family.
