Summary The Surgical Scheduling Coordinator Specialist is an experienced clerical staff member responsible for coordinating patient appointments involving multiple resources and/or complex record gathering (including records from external entities) to facilitate accurate scheduling. The coordinator is also responsible for follow-up including communicating with all stakeholders (verbally, written and electronically).

You are responsible for scheduling any surgical cases for assigned providers and clinical area(s). As part of this process, responsibilities may include reviewing surgical orders for accuracy, scheduling any pre‑op and ancillary services and communicating timely and providing the highest level of customer service to the surgical team, inter‑departments and the patient and family.

The coordinator is typically assigned to one or two specialty areas, for example: image-guided biopsies, stat radiology exams/procedures, Bone Marrow Transplants (including work‑up procedures/preparations, caregiver education classes), and surgical program within program scheduling inpatient or outpatient style. Must be comfortable with medical terminology and thrive in an environment with many competing priorities and demands.

This position provides administrative support responsibilities associated with one or more outpatient programs, administratively managing consultation requests, the electronic request list, and notifying the patients regarding scheduled appointments and accurately interpreting orders as received by all authorized scribes. Additional duties to include serving as preceptor for new hires.

Salary Range $17.97 - $27.16 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job‑related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
