Job summary

Descript is seeking a Brand Design Lead to evolve our brand across campaigns, web experiences, and events. You will navigate between big-picture concepting and craft, reporting to the Director of Brand & Content, and collaborating with product, marketing, and sales teams to deliver on-brand assets at scale.

You will mentor designers, lead external partnerships, and leverage AI tools to increase impact while maintaining quality.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in brand design, in-house or agency.
• Portfolio showing strategic thinking and execution across web, social, and paid channels.
• Strong command of typography, color, and composition.
• Evidence of building a brand system that scaled beyond output.
• Experience directing outside creative partners.
• Fluency with AI tools to produce and scale work with a clear perspective on where not to use them.

Responsibilities

• Evolve and extend the Descript brand across campaigns, web, and events.
• Lead concept and design for launches and campaigns, from brief through delivery.
• Develop brand systems and toolkits for scalable work.
• Enable product, marketing, and sales to create on-brand assets without relying on you.
• Direct internal and external creative partners from illustrators to design engineers.
• Mentor designers and promote craft across the company.
