Job summary

Carter Bank in Danville, VA is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to develop and sustain customer relationships while supporting branch teams and ensuring strong financial performance.

You will lead daily operations, grow deposits and loans, coach staff, and coordinate with internal partners to deliver exceptional customer experiences while adhering to policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college a plus.
• Experience in a financial institution or similar professional/retail services.
• Successful customer service and/or sales experience.
• Proven leadership capability in a prior position.
• Account/relationship management experience a plus.
• Operations experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead branch team and ensure consistent application of retail operating model.
• Grow core deposits and loans, and increase fee income.
• Support associate action planning, reinforce expectations, and assess performance.
• Maintain high employee morale and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Promote products/services to meet growth objectives; oversee sales quality.
• Identify referrals to internal/partner teams and vendor partners.
• Oversee customer service quality and relationship management decisions.
• Deliver exceptional customer experiences and ensure safety/compliance.
• Reinforce branch operations and partner with departments for improvements.
• Onboard and mentor new hires; coach branch staff.
