Job summary

Apple Bank is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager in New York, NY. This on-site role supports the Branch Manager in achieving sales, service, and operational goals, while coaching staff and managing branch operations.

The ABM will ensure compliance with policies, controls, and regulatory requirements, and will take charge in the Branch Manager's absence. Notary duties and occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and 3-5 years customer facing retail experience or comparable banking experience; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of operations experience, preferably in banking.
• Excellent customer service/sales skills.
• Excellent working knowledge of branch operations and banking regulations
• Effective problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to maintain composure when interacting with customers and staff.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal + written).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and must have experience using banking software experience.
• Demonstrated comfort level with technology, mobile services and online banking services is a plus.
• Qualify to be licensed as a Notary Public for New York State.
• Mandatory training may require occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee branch operations per policies and controls.
• Coach staff on sales techniques and product knowledge.
• Supervise service, systems, and transactions; conduct performance appraisals.
• Identify and mitigate operational risk and losses.
• Oversee reconciliation, audits, reporting, records and closing procedures.
• Cross-train to cover teller and other roles.
• Ensure audit grade of Satisfactory or better.
• Troubleshoot complex client service issues at teller line.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure policy transparency.
• Maintain knowledge of bank products and regulatory issues.
• Meet sales goals and implement sales programs.
• Assist in staffing decisions and scheduling.
• Prepare reports and reconcile general ledger.
• Conduct staff meetings and set priorities.
• Approve customer transactions within authority.
• Notarize legal documents.
• Travel for mandatory training.
