Job summary

Insurance Office of America is seeking a Branch Operations Manager - Commercial Lines in California. This hybrid role requires 1 day in-office at one of IOA's CA locations and leads all branch operations, staff development, budgeting, and service management while supporting producer acquisition and handling a book of business.

You will drive strategic plans, manage P&L, and maintain high technical and leadership standards across the branch, with a focus on effective communication and culture

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience and deep knowledge of commercial lines insurance.
• 2+ years of management experience in a branch or similar
• Active property & casualty license required
• Strong account management skills with 50% time on a book of business
• Excellent communication, people management, and negotiation abilities
• MS Office proficiency (Outlook/Word/Excel) required
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Lead the branch operations team and daily workflow.
• Drive annual strategic and tactical plans for the branch.
• Manage branch P&L, costs, and budget adherence.
• Communicate leadership vision and branch goals.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop operations staff; support mergers/acquisitions.
• Oversee HR processes, policies, and compliance.
• Ensure productivity, quality, and service standards are met.
• Cultivate client relationships and manage a defined book of business.
• Identify process improvements and ensure policy enforcement.
• Monitor performance data and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with sales leadership and resolve operational issues.
