Job summary

Quail Construction is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager for the Phoenix Branch to help run daily operations, oversee dispatch and field crews, ensure safety, and uphold service standards.

You will lead teams, optimize resources, monitor performance, and maintain compliance, reporting to Branch Manager; this on-site role requires strong leadership and decisive judgment to maintain branch profitability.

Qualifications

• Experience in traffic control, construction operations, dispatch, or field supervision preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
• Knowledge of labor management, scheduling, operational efficiency, and cost control.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency with operational technology, reporting systems, and basic computer applications.
• Commitment to professionalism, accountability, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily branch operations, coordinating personnel, equipment, and resources.
• Oversee dispatch and field activities ensuring staffing and timely customer requests.
• Provide leadership and direction to dispatchers, Foremen, and field personnel.
• Monitor productivity, labor utilization, overtime, and operational expenses.
• Support workforce planning, performance management, training, and development.
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety standards, and regulations.
• Monitor fleet utilization, maintenance, inventory, and yard organization.
• Assist with customer relationships and business development.
• Utilize Samsara to monitor safety, driver performance, and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate operational documentation and performance metrics.
• Identify challenges and implement corrective measures.
• Partner with HR on staffing and policy compliance.
• Assume responsibility in Branch Manager's absence.
