Job summary

Airgas is seeking a Branch Manager Trainee to be placed in a local Bluefield, WV branch and complete a comprehensive training program. The program builds industry knowledge, customer understanding, and branch operations expertise to meet regional performance targets in sales, margins, and expenses.

The trainee will assist in safety, inventory control, accounts receivable, and personnel issues while preparing to lead a branch in a fast‑paced market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; combination of college training and experience considered.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with SAP is a plus.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Professional communication skills (verbal and written).
• Basic product knowledge of welding, safety, gases and supplies preferred.
• Knowledge of financial accounting terms including gross margin and ROI.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete all training modules provided in the development role.
• Ensure safety, health and welfare of sales, operations and all associates.
• Administer safety policies and procedures in line with guidelines.
• Answer customer inquiries and enter orders into the system.
• Coordinate with territory sales personnel to grow market sales and margins.
• Pull and package customer orders and manage cash/charge orders.
