Job summary

Collins Community Credit Union is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager for the Marion Branch. You will support the Branch Manager in driving performance, culture, and operational excellence while mentoring frontline staff to deliver exceptional member service.

The role includes back-up coverage for frontline positions, coaching, staff development, and ensuring adherence to policies and risk controls. A strong leadership background in retail banking and a willingness to work in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in consumer lending, retail banking, or a sales-focused environment.
• Experience with loan origination, deposit account opening, or membership development strongly preferred.
• Must be able obtain and maintain active NMLS registration.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, coach and inspire others.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be bondable in accordance with the State of Iowa and CCCU guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, real-time coaching to all frontline employees to improve service quality, member satisfaction, sales effectiveness, and referral behaviors.
• Assist in conducting structured one-on-one coaching sessions and participate in regular performance discussions to drive accountability and development.
• Reinforce expected behaviors, including needs-based conversations, product knowledge, and member relationship building.
• Partner with the Branch Manager to identify talent gaps, develop employees, and build a strong succession pipeline.
• Support onboarding and training of new hires and ensure alignment to branch standards from day one.
• Model best-in-class member interactions and demonstrate how to convert service conversations into relationship opportunities.
• Serve as the primary back-up for all frontline Retail roles and perform related transactions when needed.
• Review transactions, account activity, and lending support to ensure accuracy and compliance.
