Job summary

YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina is seeking a Branch Executive Director at the Midtown YMCA to steward the Y’s mission and protect its brand within the community. The role oversees operations, volunteer and staff development, and collaboration with stakeholders during a capital campaign and campus renovation.

Lead budgeting, program expansion, and engagement strategies, while directing fundraising activities including annual and capital campaigns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree requirement in human services, social services, business or equivalent.
• YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.
• Two or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
• Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, branch budgeting, marketing and program development.
• Experience in volunteer involvement management; ability to recruit community leaders.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups from all social and economic segments.
• Proven track record of building authentic relationships with others and with community organizations.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a diverse advisory board and recruits volunteers for the branch.
• Builds bridges within the community to ensure access for all segments.
• Communicates the Y's community impact to staff, volunteers, members and leaders.
• Manages budgeting to meet top priorities and targets.
• Directs member engagement strategies and program expansion aligned with the mission.
• Oversees Annual Campaign and capital campaigns at the branch.
• Directs branch strategic planning and annual operating plan.
• Oversees hiring, training and supervision of staff.
• Fosters innovation to develop member-focused programs.
• Ensures safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities and grounds.
• Oversees construction, renovation, or facility improvements.
